Frosted Roses and Autumn Colour...
I awoke this morning to another glorious day of sunshine and heavy frost! Many of the roses are in bloom, so they're now covered in a beautiful frosting! Only last week, we took these photos of autumnal colour in the garden...
Here are some photos taken this morning...
More pretty, frosted roses...
The beauty of nature...
The view across from our cottage...
I think we're due for a change in the weather at the weekend - apparently we have wind and rain to look forward to. What brilliant timing; I'm off to an antiques fair tomorrow - with outside stalls! So instead of gloves and scarves, it will be wellies and brollies! Enjoy your weekend wherever you are!

What beautiful pictures Clare. We've been so lucky haven't we this autumn, it really has been truly glorious. There's a bit of snow forecast for over the Peak District hills on Sunday so we might get a dusting. Love the frosted roses and all your new stock - wonderfully tempting!

Beautiful, beautiful photos Clare. Hasn't this weather been gorgeous. Hope we don't get any rain just at the moment. Good luck at the Fair

Those roses look sugar coated, can't decide whether they should be on a cake or a hat!!
Hi Clare,
ReplyDeleteLoved your photographs - if a rose can become any more beautiful, then a frosty covering is an added touch of magic.
Hope I bump into you at the fair! (Don't buy ALL the rose vintage goodies before me!! hehe!)

Hello Clare, it has been a while since we looked at eachother's posts. I just love the frosted roses. The edges of the roses look so elegant and delicate with the crystals.
ReplyDeleteI hope its not too wet for you for your sale. Stay dry and sell lots.
Clare, I've read your blog for awhile, but never looked at the little "house" that shows up on your profile till you commented on my blog today. How adorable! Is that your house? It looks like you've just stepped out of a fairy tale. What a wonderful house!

Thise are so pretty! Looks like they're frosted with sugar :-) I'm taking a cake decorating class and learning how to make "frosting roses" so I'll use yours as inspiration!

I can't believe you still have roses when it's nearly winter. Gosh I hope mine still flower when it gets cold here :-)
ReplyDeleteThe photos look like they have come straight from the pages of a gardening magazine. What gorgeous roses. Mine are just being washed away today - no frost in sight, just heaps of rain. What a fabulous view to get up to every day too.

How beautiful, Clare! Those roses remind me of the sugared ones on a wedding cake!
ReplyDeleteWe had frost yesterday - so exciting to know Jack frost is about. Unfortunately today was rain ... ~ love Julia x
ReplyDeleteDear Clare!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thanks a lot for sharing those wonderful photos! It's always great to discover the beauty of mother nature when Jack Frost visited the garden! I hope I will be able to take such pictures next autumn / winter, too! By that time, I hope my new roses will be in (still) in bloom, too! I finally planted 8 bare rooted roses at my new long border last week, together with almost 100 alliums and some new perennials and different sorts of poppies. I am so much looking forward to seeing everything in bloom next spring and summer: just white and soft colours!
By the way, I hope you had a great time at that antique fair!
XoX, Anita
