Pick of the Crop!
Well, we haven't had such a bountiful crop of tomatoes this year - but here's a few I picked yesterday. Thanks to the damp and cool Summer we have definitely seen a drop in harvest compared to last year - although our cucumbers and aubergines have done well - but don't mention the runner beans..!
I know it's becoming a bit of a recurring theme, but I have another 'lovely lady' for you! Isn't she gorgeous? She is making an appearance in my shop, along with lots of other fantastic finds, which I have added today. The website certainly keeps me busy, that's for sure! In fact, it's probably just as well our summer weather hasn't been great - I certainly wouldn't have had much time to relax, unlike some...
...if there's such a thing as reincarnation - I want to come back as a cat - one of mine!! I'm also very much aware that I haven't had any spare time to blog. I do appreciate your comments and enjoy visiting your blogs when I can - so apologies if I haven't responded to a question or particular comment recently - normal service should be resumed soon!!
Finally, here's a little teaser for you - exciting new changes are on the way for Vintage Home - I will say no more - otherwise I'll probably tell all! Watch this space, as they say...

Hi Clare,
ReplyDeleteYummy tomatoes! They look scrummy!
(I have posted a comment on Gena's blog, as she was also talking about tomatoes! I craved them when I was pregnant with my girls - and the craving has never stopped!! I eat a lot of them everyday! - I really should grow my own too!)
Yes, life would be so much simpler as a cat! I'm a bit of a fidget though and would probably get bored if I was ever to become one!
Promise I won't divulge my insider information re: your little secret!! Bet you can't wait though!! hehe....
See you soon,
Niki x
Hi Clare, lif is simpler as a cat only if you have a good home, yours obviously does and is a very lucky kitty. Your tomatoes look delicious. Our in-laws visited recently and brought some tomatoes from their garden, they were so delicious, so much better then what is available at the store.
ReplyDeleteClare, your tomatoes look so nice. We're just starting to get a few. Just been too hot here this summer.
ReplyDeleteNow it's time to pop over to your shop.....
OMG! LOVE the cherry boxes! Those are fabulous, as well as the tomatoes! Rosemary
ReplyDeleteYep I want to come back as a cat too, well only if I can train my "people" as well as ours have trained us. Great to hear that the website is doing well, even if the tomatoes aren't. Of course having read your "teaser" I'm feeling as curious as a cat!
ReplyDeleteOh where did you find the fab wooden boxes-I love them!!
ReplyDeleteHi Clare
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your special post coming soon! Niki, I won't say anything either!!
Sue xx
Oh Clare, I love home-grown tomatoes! You can't beat them for flavour.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing your news.

I ate some lovely tomatoes on toast with cheese from the garden today ... yummy. What happened to your runner beans ? Ours have been bountiful, which is rather unfortunate from me as I don't like them. However the woodcutter loves them and has insisted on having them every tea time !
ReplyDeleteI'm watching this space!!!! We've only picked six cherry tomatoes this year - so yu really have a bumper crop! Yes, I'd love to be a cat too, lying around all day on a nice warm eiderdown and looking disdainfully at anyone who tries to move me!

Great tomatoes, we have two weedy looking green ones struggling for survival at the moment!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear more about the 'secret'.

I am a new reader of your blog...I love it! The tomatoes look great and I love the photo of your cat...so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm so envious of your tommy crop, we've only had a few from our grow-bag which my mum planted up for my little boy, (to be honest I've ot really looked after it at all). Sadly its not encouraged him to actually eat a fresh one yet but I live in hope! What a beautiufl lady, glad to see she's on her way to new home too. Looking forward to seeing what new changes are on the way.

ReplyDeleteThe tomatoes look yummy, especially the way you have them set in the pretty boxes!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE tomatoes! Sometimes I will have an entire bowl of them with a little feta cheese and salad dressing for lunch!

Hello Clare! Your blog is so wonderful and I am glad that you posted something again. Love that pic of the lady and the red stool that your tomatoes are resting on. Hope all is going good for you over there. Blessings, Becky
