Christmas Past and Present...

Earlier this year, whilst visiting an antiques fair we found a beautiful Victorian Christmas box, decorated with holly and a pretty young lady, all wrapped up nice and cosy in her hat and coat. I had planned to display the box this Christmas but then we thought what a lovely idea it would be to reproduce the image for this year's Vintage Home Christmas card!

So here it is, we have made some slight alterations - can you spot them? - and added a special Christmas greeting inside. Once all the cards are sent the box will be empty again - all I have to do now is decide what to fill it with; any suggestions?

oh how nice!!!

i think that your box would work perfectly for yarn {or perle} storage.
{in christmas colors even.}

Lovely cards, very professional!
You could always use the box to store your fragile & precious Xmas decorations once the festive season is over!

Hi Claire :-))
this box is just too beautiful!when it'll empty if I were you I would use just for this time of the year and filling with pinecones , branch of pines and some vintage glass decorations and going to place close the christmas tree or on a pretty table. After Christmas you can use it to keep some of your handworks like crocheting or knitting. this is just an idea, but I'm sure you'll find the right way to use it :-)))

Lovely box - glad you removed the heads! It took a while to work it out!!

Will you be coming to the Flea on 14th?

What a gorgeous box! Really pleased that you removed the heads and her toothy grin. She's much prettier with her closed mouth 'shy' smile!

So pretty, I love the card! The bow would be great storage, I agree... but for the time being, prehaps you could put it under the Christmas tree and fill with fairy lights and little gifts that your guests could randomly pick out for themselves....???

Lovely cards! Perhaps you could do what I do and hide away you boring bits like computer leads and memory sticks in the box. Not very exciting when you open it but will look nice :)

Thanks so much for adding me on your blog list, that's really kind of you!
