Gifts and Glasses Galore!
I really don't know where the days go to at the moment! I have had so many lovely things I'd like to show you but simply haven't had the time to update my blog as often as I'd have liked! But I am pleased to show the gorgeous hand-made items I received from Alison who has a lovely blog and makes some very pretty cards and fabric hearts etc. Everything arrived wrapped so prettily with ribbon and pastel flowers - what a lovely surprise it was! Alison was so thoughtful adding the bookmark as she knows I'm currently on the look-out for a certain book!
I promised some photos of my 50s glass collection and here they are! I have quite a few and they vary from the very tiny tot glasses right up to the pint glasses for beer! This isn't all of them - there are lots more in the cupboards and dotted around the cottage!
I haven't actually counted the glasses - but I know I have more than enough for a garden party!
I'd like to thank Louise, Dorothy and Bonnie for very kindly nominating me for the Thinking Blogger Award. Thank you so very much, I am extremely flattered ladies! I know I should reciprocate and choose my five favourite blogs. However, all the wonderful blogs I visit have already received the award! If you have a look at the many listed in my side bar you will be in for a treat! Don't forget to visit Dan's Blah Blah Blog - his observations on day-to-day life are so entertaining! In fact, his current post is very timely!!!
Lastly, I hope I won't hear too many groans of protest, but here is yet another wisteria photo! The blooms are fading now so it will be the last photo, I promise - well, the last photo this year! Although the leaves are very pretty..!
Hi Clare - lovely glass collection and I love the blue and white plates. My wisteria is not quite out yet but hopefully I will be able to post about it very soon!

Hi Clare,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely swap pressie!
I shall keep my eyes peeled for those 50's glasses for you to add to your collection; but do you have any room for any more?! They look great BTW! - look forward to the garden party!
Well done on your award too. And no apologies needed for the Wisteria photo. I keep going out side for a lung-full of my Wisterias heady scent - as you say, it wont last for ever.

I remeber seeing glasses like those around our home as a little girl, my mum must have been holding on to hers too - but sadly I don't know what happened to them. they look so pretty on your shelves. Love to see the wisteria!

What lovely things you've received from Alison! And your glassware is stunning! My goodness, if I had all those glasses dotting my cupboards it may end up looking more like the "batting range" at the county fair with all my little boys! =) That wisteria is just so dreamy!!!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the vintage glasses, Clare! The wisteria in bloom is always just gorgeous! I love the color!! What a beautiful treat for me this morning since our Wisteria is now faded away!!

ReplyDeleteClare, you have the most wonderful taste. I love your glassware collection. And the wisteria....sigh.... share as many pictures of that as you like! It's so beautiful and we can't grow it here, so I could look at your pics of it all day!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to visit my place, I have you entered in the drawing.
ReplyDeleteI love your wisteria photos and bought a plant today, I have my fingers crossed that it will look half as good as yours! I've never had much luck with them in the past
Great glass collection Clare. My mum has a huge collection of 50's glasses too. Love the wisteria shots. That mauve is perfect against the blue sky. We lost our wisteria to honey fungus one year. One day it was there the next day, gone! So sad.
ReplyDeleteI adore your collections...and the wisteria...sigh
ReplyDeleteI love the glass jug that has the grren on it. I used to adore my nanny's cupboard full of coloured glasses !
ReplyDeleteHi Clare,
ReplyDeleteI am so so jealous of your 50's glass collection. It is just the style I love.
If I had such a lovely Wisteria I would post a photo every day! It is so nice to feel your enthusiasm for the things you love.
